  • Machine Control: Master the functions and manoeuvrability of the telescopic materials handler across varying terrain and site conditions.
  • Workflow Coordination: Synchronise activities with ground crew and other team members to ensure safe and efficient site operations.
  • Load Handling: Safely attach, secure, lift, and place loads using load charts, stability techniques, and certified lifting gear in collaboration with a dogman.
  • Attachment Management: Select, fit, test, use, and store various attachments, such as forks or buckets, within their specific design limits.
  • Site Communication: Use a range of communication techniques, including hand and audible signals, to coordinate workplace activities.
  • Equipment Relocation: Prepare the machine for transport and safely relocate it between worksites in accordance with traffic management requirements.
  • Maintenance Housekeeping: Perform basic operator maintenance and carry out site clean-up and materials disposal procedures.

On successful completion, participants will be able to conduct telescopic materials handler operations safely, consistently, and in line with industry expectations. They will demonstrate competence in hazard management, equipment operation, communication, documentation, and routine operator maintenance.
